At present, Falls is the longest serving member of the largest partnership of communications, marketing and public relations agencies in the world. Founded in 1970, PROI has grown to encompass 75+ partner agencies with 6,000+ PR professionals across five continents, 50 countries and 100+ cities, serving more than 5,000 clients. Our Cleveland roots date back to 1989. We were born out of the joint venture between two Ross Roy Advertising firms -- Anthony M. Franco, Inc., the largest public relations firm in Michigan, and Griswold Advertising, one of the largest and oldest ad agencies in Cleveland. Rob Falls, senior vice president at Franco, was chosen to lead the downtown Cleveland office which was branded Franco-Griswold.
In 1994 our name changed to Falls-Griswold as a result of Rob and the leadership team at Griswold Advertising each buying out equal shares of the agency. With such well-known clients as Moen, Sherwin-Williams, Lincoln Electric and The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System, the agency grew quickly in size and stature.
When Rob purchased the full company in 1996, we changed our name to Robert Falls & Company Public Relations and quickly became known as a firm solidly built on media relations and outstanding client service. That same year we extended our reach by joining PROI Worldwide, the largest network of independent PR firms in the world.
In 1998, we shortened our name to Falls Communications to reflect the depth and breadth of our fuller service offering. We continued to add services, bench strength and expertise to meet the changing communications needs of our clients. Added services included creative design, crisis communications, brand strategy, investor relations, public and government affairs and market research, to name just a few.
In response to the market’s growing demand for digital services, we added a digital company to our portfolio in 2012. Falls Digital specializes in the digital transformation of businesses to improve customer experiences.
In 2016 we expanded our geographic footprint to enhance our presence in Washington, DC, through an affiliation with Thomas Advisors, Inc., which specializes in government services, lobbying and public affairs.
Again, in direct response to market needs, in 2019 we merged our communications and digital teams to create a fully integrated agency branded under the shortened name of Falls. Today you can find us at WeAreFalls.com.
But that’s not the end of the story. In late 2019, we acquired the iconic Cleveland-based ad agency Wyse which is widely known for its extensive creative and media buying capabilities. Combined, our agencies offer a wealth of experience and expertise to create a stronger platform for clients.
Now with roughly 90 professionals dedicated to advancing our clients’ interests, we can address the most sophisticated challenges; yet, we’re small enough to be highly nimble and responsive.
