Senior Content Strategist

Job Summary

The Sr. Content Strategist will be responsible for the direction, implementation, education and ownership of all content strategy throughout the organization. They will help drive and establish the overall voice and content strategy for various digital content pieces.

In this role, the individual will work closely with the development team, designers, inbound marketing experts, account teams and other digital practitioners to create impactful creative concepts and digital content for websites, social media, emails, inbound marketing campaigns and other digital media activities. In addition to this, the individual will need to be able to create and execute a variety of digital content marketing activities when called upon.

Finally, this individual will be to date on all SEO best practices and be able to perform keyword research to help support and increase the quality and quantity of website traffic or the Fall organization and its clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with account teams to help clients articulate their strategy, tactics and goals for communications
  • Work as the lead content strategist to help train and mentor junior strategists
  • Gain a deep understanding of the motivations and behaviors of clients’ target audience(s) to help develop brand personas
  • Produce all content strategy deliverables including content audits, gap analyses, metadata frameworks, and create taxonomies for websites
  • Create copy based on SEO guideline and best practices
  • Building strategies for developing, implementing and managing compelling and well-organized content based on a thorough understanding of the clients’ business objectives, user needs and industry best practices
  • Develop distribution plans for positioning content across multiple channels to drive desired business results
  • Ensure brand consistency in all creative efforts
  • Create and maintain clients’ brand style guide including voice and tone
  • Collaborating with team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction of online initiatives, including setting guidelines for the editorial tone, style, and voice of all content
  • Work closely with other team members to create and execute successful digital communications and campaigns including website, microsites, emails, social media, email, inbound marketing, PPC and more
  • Work with clients to enhance, edit and reformat legacy and newly created content

Credentials & Experience

  • Bachelors or equivalent in a digital marketing communications and/or inbound marketing related field
  • Minimum five to seven years writing experience, four-years writing for SEO and social media and one year of inbound marketing experience
  • Must be friendly, organized, honest, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of online marketing and advertising concepts and strategies
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle stress without sacrificing quality
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, search engines, and web-based applications, SEMrush and ScreamingFrog.
  • Solid understanding HubSpot, Google Analytics or other website analytic software
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CMS platforms a plus
